During Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, in Sahar and Iftaar, our diet intake is not according to our body needs. Due to this, weakness often overcomes in the last ten days of Rmadan. It not only hinders our daily engagements but also disrupt our prayers. In this regard, opting a better way helps protect the physical energy to a great extent. Fast starts with Sahar and even in the first sahar it is difficult to manage with getting up so early and taking meal. Human stomach is not capable of having even light food in the odd timings. So even on the the first day we start feeling lethargic after afternoon and it becomes hard to spend the rest of the day. At the time of Iftaar, we take lots of water and chilled drinks due to extreme thirst. And this is how our nutritious needs remain fulfilled. Though there are many things on the table but because of severe thirst we gulp lots of water and cannot eat anything. After this, males go to Masjid and females go to their prayer mats for offering Maghreb prayer. After having offered the prayer, the Iftaar meal that could not be eaten, due to drinking lots of water is waiting for us. We eat pakoras, chana chaat etc… which make us feel heavy and lethargic and we feel like lying down. Many people take a small nap. Getting up for Ishaa prayers becomes harder for them and they complain pain in their legs. They don’t feel like eating after having returned from Ishaa prayer so they take a few morsels upon having been insisted. Take many glasses of water and go to their beds. Upon waking up for Sahar, they keep feeling fulfillment. So, instead of eating nutritious food like bread and curry, they keep restricted to light food like “Khajla Pheeni”. It causes weakness later in the afternoon.
It’s a dilemma that we don’t take diet in Sahar and Iftaar according to our physical needs. For instance, no matter how much “Khajla Pheeni” we eat in Sahar, it cannot provide us nutrition according to our physical needs. So if eating bread and curry is not possible, we can take wheat or barley porridge cooked in milk along with dates, not two or three but five to seven in quantity. This is how, though the food is less in quantity but it will be according to your physical needs and it will not be a hindrance in your daily performance. The same way, at Iftaar time, instead of gulping lots of water and drinks impatiently, show more discipline and control. Initially take at least three dates or fruit chaat and chana chaat. If you feel dryness, then take small water intake. Try not to drink more than one glass of water before Maghreb prayer. Avoid eating fried food as they cause heaviness in the stomach. After Maghreb prayer, drink water with some intervals and if possible, eat dinner before going for Ishaa prayers. Otherwise, have your meal after Ishaa prayer and also do a little walk to help better digestion. Excessive use of water and drinks at the time of Iftaar causes stress and pain instead of making your body fresh and active. If the lady of the house plans Sahar and Iftaar with a conscious understanding of her own and family health, it will produce very positive results.
Got my own house by writing application to Allah
Respected Hakim Sahib, As Salam Alaikum! In one of your leactures, I heard about a practice of writing application to Allah. I was surprised to read the miracles of this easy practice. I had a problem that the share I got from inheritance distribution was not enough for making my own house. Due to this, the whole family was gravely worried. I performed the practice of writing application to Allah. Just after a few weeks, we got all the resources of making our own house. Alhamdulillah our house is near to completion. Following is the practice: Take a math notebook that has square boxes. Write “Ya Allah” [یا اللہ] in each box. When the notebook is finished, put each page in separate wheat dough and throw this dough in pure running water like in the sea, river or canal where there is fish in it. In sha Allah, Allah will fulfill the intention with which the practice is performed. (Saad Sulemaan, Lahore)
